Is the DS dead?

well, is it? there hasn't been a new game for it in a while, and with the arrival of the 3ds, some may say that the ds is now a thing of the past.
However, past experience has taught us that even though a particular console dies out, its evolution is there to pick up the torch.
so, lets hope that the 3ds will live up to the ds's standard in its reign as nintendo's handheld console

    The next handheld probably won't go with the "DS" branding, despite all the success the brand has had. Face it, we've has DS, DS Lite, DS XL, DSi, DSi XL, 3DS and there are rumours that there will be a redesigned 3DS, but this is unlikely in my opinion.

    i heard those rumors too, and yes, i do think that the ds will die out. The problem is THERE ARE NO 3DS GAMES OUT EXCEPT FOR ZELDA. I WANT UPRISING. REALLY BAD.
