Great moments of Nintendo Gaming in my life.

What is your greatest gaming memory? Most of them probably involve beating that boss you were stuck on. But for me, one of the best moments in gaming came to me from that N64 game that was considered the best game of all time and is to be re-released and re-mastered for the 3DS. The first temple where there is a spider web along the ground and you have no idea what to do. No squeaky fairy in your ear. I thought you had to burn it, but there was no way to get the torch down without extinguishing the flame. Eventually, I decided to be suicidal and jump. I missed the web by a meter of so and then thought: what if I had landed on the web? I went back up and did it again, and the web couldn't hold my weight, so it collapsed and took me to a new area. That was when I knew why this was called the greatest game of all time. Another great one was, without a doubt, Super Mario Galaxy 2. The boss blitz galaxy speed run. I tried so many times to beat it and never got it. I kept ignoring the Rosalina ghost and kept on trying. And trying. And...trying. With each attempt, failure. Until, one day, I beat the last boss of the lineup and still had plenty of time. At last, I got the star. The great feeling of triumph overwhelmed me. Other moments like this might come from different scenarios, like in GoldenEye Wii when I found the Masterton shotgun. I had no idea what it was like, until I fired. ZOMG! A shotgun. But not just that. It was a shotgun with a log range! And guess what? It was automatic! A long ranged, automatic shotgun! Great moments in gaming pop up everywhere huh? What are yours?

The gauntlet: 4EVER's submission

Here's a picture for the SSBB comp.

The Wii's successor

The nintendo Wii has been out for a while now, and just recently Nintendo confirmed that it will have a successor. It's not surprising. The Wii doesn't seem to have any more stellar titles on the way, other than skyward sword and the price has dropped as well. But when I heard the new console was to be on the way, I panicked. I freaked. I basically went: NOOOO!!! There are still so many games I want to play on the system and now there won't be time! But then I heard the release date. April 2012 or later. I breathed a sigh of relief. There's more time than I thought. I still want to own the Metroid Prime Trilogy, finish Mario Galaxy 1 and get all the green stars in the second. I havn't even played Other M long enough to beat the first boss. Edge of Time will be released soon as well as the Skyward Sword and I havn't even picked up Ocarina of Time since defeating Phantom Ganon.

And what will the Wii 2/ Project Cafe/ Stream bring to the mix? (note: all these name are ideas that have been flying around the web) Personally, I would like it to be backward compatible with Gamecube and Wii games, have improved motion control, but also have twin thumbsticks and be able to hold it like a classic controller, but have the option to turn it into a controller resembling a Wii-Mote. (Kinda like how you attach a Nunchuck to the Wii-Remote) Also, what are we getting? Smash Bros, HD Zelda? Nobody knows just yet, but April 2012 or later, BRING IT ON!

Permadeath.

Permadeath is an interesting concept. Basically, permadeath occurs in a game when you only have one life and you just can't afford to take damage because, if you die, you have to start again from the beginning. Not of the level, but the entire game. I have been looking for one, but I havn't found a DS game that has permadeath I command my underlings to find some for me. Please.

co-existence

Lately, i havent really been making many posts... at all. And I am about to say why. The reason is simple. I haven't been doing a lot gaming lately, why is that? It is because lately, i have been reading. Yes, reading, a verb that not enough people use in a positive way. A lot of people say, or think 'reading is boring, gaming is better' and i do greatly enjoy gaming, but i still enjoy reading too. I think that the two of these activities should be able to co-exist far better than they do today. Most young people have condemned reading and will always think of it as something tiresome and copious. Ironically these people would probably never use these words, let alone know them, as reading, the very thing they avoid, is the easiest way to expand your vocabulary. School would mostly be to blame for the shunning of reading, as school does force it upon you, but the benefits of school outweigh the downsides. In my opinion reading and gaming should be able to co-exist, with people using their free time to do both. While it is a matter of opinion i think that the world would be a better place with people finding ways to express themselves without swearing constantly. While i completely support gaming, i do think that people shouldn't shun other things because of it. While this is a gaming blog I think it is important that people do realize what they are missing out on. Making a post like that was a weird experience, anyway it is out of my system so it will be back to normal posts from me.

It has been a while since Ocarina first came out on the N64. and now that it is making a comeback on the 3ds, It is probably best if we get a better look at it.
The game will be coming out in june this year and is quite frankly, one of our most anticipated games ever along with Skyward sword which sould be arriving sometime in september.
Thanks to youtube (which is where I got the video from), and to Machinima (who originally posted the video on youtube).

Super Smash Brother Brawl Character Dissection: Ness

Similar to Lucas in more ways than one, Ness appears as a secret character in Brawl, as opposed to Melee where he was available from the beginning. Ness has a distinctive mid-air jump which allows him to jump very far and very high, kinda like Yoshi. Except, Ness actually has a recovery move: PK Thunder. His is quite different from Lucas' as it only hits an opponent once, but it does more damage. The drawback being that if you hit something once and you are trying to recover, then you're going dowwwwwnnnnnnnn. PK Flash it one of the most powerful special moves in the game, but it is extremely hard to land at full power. You have to guide it through the air and make sure it doesn't touch anything and release it at the right moment. But it has limited range and also requires Ness to remain stationary while he s using it. It moves a lot slower than Lucas' PK Freeze, so why use it if it never connects? Well, don't worry. There will be a time when it lands. And when it does, you won't want to miss it. His side "B" is also PK Fire, but it is different as well. It lands multiple hits over and over and if you keep it up, you can bombard the enemy with loads of PK Fires, causing massive damage. The down "B" attack is virtually the same as Lucas' except he create the PSI magnet around hid body instead of holding it out on front of him. It absorbs energy projectiles and turns it into health. Hand against Wolf or Samus. His PSI magnet doesn't deal damage if he is close enough, unlike Lucas' and although Lucas doesn't cover his body when using it, if a projectile comes from behind, he just turns to block it. The share their final smash of PK Starstorm. It's pretty much the same, except for Ness' meteors come down on a diagonal slant.

Ness' up smash and down smash of a Yo-Yo don't even come close to the power of Lucas' hexagonal energy, but his side smash of his trusty baseball bat is much more powerful than his counterparts'...twig. His ariel attacks don't harbour all that much power, but overall, Ness' is a unique character with similarities to Lucas everywhere. (I like to break the fighters into categories: Fast, strong, all-around and unique, which doesn't fall into the other categories. There are so many differences between the characters though, most of the time the categories son't deliver them justice)

But Ness' shine comes from his "OK" taunt. It is quick to use and is almost as annoying as the most powerful taunt of all, Kirby's "Hiii"Keep using the "OK" taunt, and the other player will snap his controller in two.

pant pant pant. Made...so...many posts. Need vacation...Bye guys, I'll be back on saturday!

4EVER's top 5 games with the best music: 1

The World Ends With You. Fitting my favourite DS game also has my favourite music. There is nothing left to say. There is only something left to listen:

4EVER's top 5 games with the best music: 2

SUPER SMASH BROTHER BRAWL!

This is sort of cheating, because SSBB contains music from tonnes of Nintendo games, but it does have original songs, which are spectacular. Like these for instance:

4EVER's top 5 games with the best music: 3

The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess. The music in this game ranges from the peaceful, calm and cozy of the Ordon Village, to the unbelievably epic of the fight against dark Beast Ganon. Enjoy another piece!

4EVER's top 5 games with the best music: 4

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days. For obvious reasons. (Both the Doctor and Terfle will murder me if I don't put it up)
