Super Smash Brother Brawl Character Dissection: Ness

Similar to Lucas in more ways than one, Ness appears as a secret character in Brawl, as opposed to Melee where he was available from the beginning. Ness has a distinctive mid-air jump which allows him to jump very far and very high, kinda like Yoshi. Except, Ness actually has a recovery move: PK Thunder. His is quite different from Lucas' as it only hits an opponent once, but it does more damage. The drawback being that if you hit something once and you are trying to recover, then you're going dowwwwwnnnnnnnn. PK Flash it one of the most powerful special moves in the game, but it is extremely hard to land at full power. You have to guide it through the air and make sure it doesn't touch anything and release it at the right moment. But it has limited range and also requires Ness to remain stationary while he s using it. It moves a lot slower than Lucas' PK Freeze, so why use it if it never connects? Well, don't worry. There will be a time when it lands. And when it does, you won't want to miss it. His side "B" is also PK Fire, but it is different as well. It lands multiple hits over and over and if you keep it up, you can bombard the enemy with loads of PK Fires, causing massive damage. The down "B" attack is virtually the same as Lucas' except he create the PSI magnet around hid body instead of holding it out on front of him. It absorbs energy projectiles and turns it into health. Hand against Wolf or Samus. His PSI magnet doesn't deal damage if he is close enough, unlike Lucas' and although Lucas doesn't cover his body when using it, if a projectile comes from behind, he just turns to block it. The share their final smash of PK Starstorm. It's pretty much the same, except for Ness' meteors come down on a diagonal slant.

Ness' up smash and down smash of a Yo-Yo don't even come close to the power of Lucas' hexagonal energy, but his side smash of his trusty baseball bat is much more powerful than his counterparts'...twig. His ariel attacks don't harbour all that much power, but overall, Ness' is a unique character with similarities to Lucas everywhere. (I like to break the fighters into categories: Fast, strong, all-around and unique, which doesn't fall into the other categories. There are so many differences between the characters though, most of the time the categories son't deliver them justice)

But Ness' shine comes from his "OK" taunt. It is quick to use and is almost as annoying as the most powerful taunt of all, Kirby's "Hiii"Keep using the "OK" taunt, and the other player will snap his controller in two.

pant pant pant. Made...so...many posts. Need vacation...Bye guys, I'll be back on saturday!
