Super Smash Brother Brawl Character Dissection: Meta Knight

Kirby's rival made it to Brawl in 2008 and in 2011 is still regarded as a great character by many. Several things ensure that Meta Knight is different from most of the fighters in Brawl. The first thing you expect from him is that he, like Kirby, can fly. That means it's very hard to self destruct or get knocked off the stage by pure luck. Unlike his rival, Meta Knight has glide through the sky to gain horizontal ground by holding down the jump button after the second flap of his cape/wings. The main thing about Meta Knight is that he attacks very, very, very quickly, but with little power. According to Mei Ling's Snake's codec (video link here:Snake's Codec: Meta Knight) his sword swing's break the sound barrier. When using Meta Knight, try the "hit and run" tactic because brute force gets you nowhere. To smash someone off the stage, it takes a ridiculous amount of damage so try to use items to your advantage. When fighting him, try using someone faster than him or someone who can keep up with him.

His "B" attack sees him spinning around as a tornado, dealing damage and catching people in the swirl. It's very quick. His side "B" involves him shooting himself in a direction like a drill to deal damage. Watch out though as this is easy to dodge, despite that it can be redirected. Up "B" launches him into flight after a quick spin upward that does damage. Down "B" makes him disappear and reappear to dodge attacks. It is not a counter move though so don't use it like one. It's a move that is meant to surprise opponents. If you hold down "B" while you disappear, then you will attack once you reappear.

His Final Smash, Galaxia Darkness, is a bit wimpy. He tosses his cape and says something cool like: "Behold my Power!" If the cape misses, then nothing happens. If he ensnares someone in it then, after a brief pause, he slashes them, dealing about 40% damage. It's not great, but luckily Meta Knight is so good it's not like he needs a great final smash. Meat Knight is one of those characters who gets banned from tournaments a lot. Basically, Meta Knight's cool.

Super Smash Brother Brawl Character Dissection: Luigi

Luigi, often overshadowed as Mario's younger brother is making his third appearance in Super Smash Bros series as a secret character. So he's a veteran fighter basically, with some unique talents.
For one, Luigi can jump much higher than his brother, let's get that out of the way. He's one of the best, if not the best, jumper in the game. The trade-off to this is that he has the worst traction in the game, without a doubt. If you run in a direction and then stop, he will sliiiiiiiide for a little while before being able to turn around. This can be helpful sometimes, like, say you're running and you suddenly do a smash attack. Luigi will slide until he's close enough in range for the attack to hit. But it isn't all that helpful against speedy characters like Sonic and Meta Knight. Since they can turn quickly and scamper off, it may be hard for Luigi to play the speed game. Anyway, onward to his moves:

Luigi possesses a few of the move his brother does, like the fireball. But his is different. His doesn't conduct gravity, meaning his floats through the air in a straight line. It's also green!
His Side "B" attack is similar to Pikachu's Skull Bash, where he launches himself forward like a rocket. The more you charge up, the further you go, but unlike Pikachu, Luigi doesn't automatically release once he reaches his limit. you can just hold it...hold it...hold it and BANG! It also has a 12.5% chance of a misfire, where flies faster and further than he normally does. This move is essentially his recovery move, because his up "B" isn't great for horizontal recovery. Speaking of which, his up "B" sees him doing Mario's coin punch, except it is completely vertical (and no coins sadly) You have to be very close to them, and I mean very close to them for it to work. If you are a little bit off, your uppercut will do about...3% damage. But if you land it, it will turn into a firey uppercut, doing massive damage and it has a huge chance of sending them flying off the stage upwards. His down "B" is a little wimpy. He spins around a bit like a tornado and does a little bit of damage and if you keep tapping "B" then he will start to rise vertically. It's good if you're cornered, but it's not his greatest move.

His final smash is devastating. After doing an...exotic dance, Luigi creates a green sphere around where he is standing. anyone caught in it may end up doing the following: taunting uncontrollably, shield breaking, falling asleep, getting a flower on their head, tripping, slowing down and uncontrollable dodge rolling. All this time, Luigi is free to beat you, or anyone else in the "Negative Zone" with anything he wants (I tend to use the Negative Zone as an opportunity to use the uppercut) If you plan on avoiding it, try and stay in the air because you can't taunt endlessly while you are in the air.

So here's the question: who is better, Luigi or Mario?

E3!!!!! ZOMG!!!

Me and probably everyone else in the gaming world is looking forward to the Electronic Entertainment Expo. So many great things coming our way, mainly Skyward Sword! But, that's not the only Zelda game coming our way this year. Of course, it is the re-release of Ocarina of Time. But also, an whole new bunch of stuff for the 3DS: Paper Mario, a new DK game, Animal Crossing and Kid Icarus.

But undoubtedly the thing everyone here at the blog (and the rest of the world) will be looking to is the unveiling of Nintendo's new console: codenamed Project Cafe.

E3 starts on 7th and goes until the 9th. Keep your eyes peeled.

skyward sword E3 trailer: DISCOVERIES!!

the epic trailer for skyward sword had extremely epic music, as i'm sure you will all agree. I just found out that this music was the main theme for twighlight princess as well!
here is the twighlight princess Vid:

the music is the same as the skyward sword trailer at about 0:52 seconds into the song.

what to expect in Ocarina of time for 3DS

the ultimate game needed the ultimate music. what you should expect when fighting ganon for the last time

this is an orchestral remix of the original ganon battle music from Ocarina of time on N64.

the main theme for the game was a peice called Zelda's lullaby. here is the orchestral version

whenever you hear music like this, you get the feeling that something amazing is happening.
this theme was also carried throughout other Zelda games following this one. Spirit tracks, windwaker, Twighlight princess, these games would not have a central theme if this music never exsited.
a round of appause for the game's composers.

Primal dialga remix!!

while on the internet the other day, I came across an epicly remixed versiuon of the primal dialga battle music.
here is it techno remixed:

here is the orchestral remix:
enjoy and take my advice. if you are stuck on any game, play this music in the background while attempting it and life will become much easier.

Pokemon Red.: part I the life of a trainer

well my fellow nintendians, every once in a while, a pokemon trainer must find their roots. Which s why i am attempting to purchase a copy of the game pokemon Red. Pokemon red is one of the 2 original pokemon games that came out in 1997. Why am I telling you this? why should you care that i am getting pokemon red. Well, I thought that i should put up a weekly post about it until I get it. Then a weekly post to describe my progress for the game (up to beating the league). Then, if you wish, I shall begin a fortnightly post about the completion of the 4th gen national pokedex. The ultimate challenge. Can I catch them all?

Nintendo's going to be around for a while.

Let's face it, even if Nintendo's next console (Wii 2 or whatever) doesn't sell and for some reason, Nintendo has to let Sony and Microsoft step aside (fat chance) Nintendo's not going anywhere. While there is the on going console wars between 360 PS3 and Wii, that's not quite the same for the handheld division. The Nintendo DS has sold 144 million units worldwide compared to the PSP's 68 million units worldwide. That's more than double. So I don't think Ninty's going down anytime in the near future

One Month to Go!!!

today is the 31st of may. in one month, Ocarina of time 3d will be released. This is a very big deal as ocarina of time IS in all gaming review coorporations, THE BEST GAME EVER! if you are excited as I am for the remake of the ultimate game, please let me know by commenting.
