Wii U can eliminate screen-cheating.

Think about it. Not many people actually play local multiplayer anymore thanks to online deathmatches, but it's a thing that I'm looking forward to at least.

Metroid Prime so far...

The first of the trilogy, Metroid Prime sees you playing as Nintendo's famous bounty hunter, Samus Aran as you platform, blast, navigate and scan your way through the remote alien world on Tallon IV. As you progress through the game, you'll be searching for suit upgrades, scanning enemies to record them in the logbook and solving some pretty tricky puzzles. A lot of your time will be spent walking, and I mean, a lot of your time, and I mean, A LOT of your time, and I mean, A HUGE FREAKIN' LOT of your time will be spent walking. However, when you aren't walking, there is a lot of great fun to be had. Walking into a new area in the game is just fantastic. You go around and try to find everything, every little secret so that you don't miss out on anything. Discovering new places is by far the best feeling you get from this game. There are some amazing battles to be had with some of the Space Pirates and Tallon IV's phazon affected inhabitants. There are also some pretty cool boss fights although, the most recent one I had was a huge jump in difficulty for the game. I almost beat the last boss with my eyes closed, but this one was completely different, almost entirely cheap. But once I figured out how to beat him, the battle stopped being frustrating and became fun. I will cover more of Prime in the review, but for now, you'll have to wait. I will say that this game is for the patient gamer. With the genre of FPS littered with the unfortunate success of Call of Duty, not many people would find Prime interesting. But for the true gamer, Prime can be a great experience.

zelda month begins

PBG has stuck to his word and begun zelda month as it is a month until skyward sword comes out. Which is good because the more pbg vids the better. Hapsy halloween for monday by the way.

Super Smash Bros Brawl Character Dissection: Pit

Pit makes his first appearance in a Smash Bros game with some unique talents...sort of. Many consider Pit to be a very noobish character thanks to his six jumps, plus the second best recovery move in the game, a spammy projectile, a spammy "B" move and of course, his reflector shield.
Pit is a high fling character with a very, very low chance of self destructing, so use that to your advantage. If you think you can jump off the stage to beat away a foe attempting to recover, do it. Pit attacks fast without letup, so he keep the pressure on. Be warned though, Pit can be sent flying easily because of his light weight and the fact that he's wearing a skirt.


PIt's Standar "B" will make him fire an arrow which can be directed from the bow, and even later during mid flight. This is considered to be a highly spammy move by many. The only thing that could make this move even more spammy is if it was fast to fire. 


His side "B" make Pit go "Hiyeyaya" and spin his weapons in a circle outward in front of him. This will catch enemies in a hard to escape, hard to evade attack. Guess what? It also reflects projectiles. 




Up "B", simply put, he flies. Cheap, yes I know. Down "B"is a reflector shield that bounces projectiles back at their user.

The Conduit- a very interesting FPS for wii

Yesterday, I rented a game (dont comment on that) called The Conduit. Its your basic Sci-fi FPS game. Aliens are invading! GO KILL THEM! Thats all well and good, but this game does not take place in the distant future, like Crysis or Halo. Anyway, The game came out back in 2009, after Halo 3, but before 007 Goldeneye. People were awestruck. This game did things for the wii that no other FPS before it had. IT WORKED. it wasn't a game that was given a "wii version," its a wii exclusive. I think. Not only were the controls sensible, the graphics were too. This game had graphics to rival that of 007 Goldeneye. So yeah, if your looking for a sci-fi shooter and dont feel like Crysis, or HALO, try this out *note, there is no multiplayer info here because i cant find a match. maybe because the sequal has come out...)
** its a traditional FPS- Shoot anything that moves. Metroid is more Puzzle based, this is BLOW STUFF UP based.

Wii U Third party launch titles: Darksiders 2

The sequel to the bloody action game from 2010 "Darksiders" arrives as a Wii U launch title. Originally, people described this as God of War for those without a Playstation, it shows some pretty supernatural, yet angelic/demonic fights and settings. It is also a very action heavy game. If you are a fan of heavy hitting, super powered beat ups, then this is probably a perfect choice. Personally, I'm interested to see what improvements (if any) the Wii U will bring to the game. Expect lots of swinging swords and monster killing as you take control of Death, the one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
