Super Smash Bros Brawl Character Dissection: Toon Link

My personal favourite character in SSBB, Toon Link brings the moveset of the Twilight Princess Link and adds a heap of speed, overcompensating for the loss of the strength the original Link. When using Toon Link, use his quickness to avoid damage and opt for ariel attacks over grounded fights. Use the many weapons available to raise the damage from afar and then finish them with some of Toon Link's powerful smash attacks. One of the best moves the hero of time has in his moveset is the downward ariel attack. It does a tonne of damage and allows you to bounce off them if landed for a second hit. Become a master at this and you will be virtually unstoppable. But watch out for overuse of this move. Smart foes will begin to see a pattern if you keep jumping above their heads and sudden;y plunge sword first onto their skulls with a master sword. Toon Link is a great character for bosses, especially Master Hand and Crazy Hand.

Toon Link's arrows travel slower, but father than his realistic counterpart's, so keep that in mind. The more you hold the arrow down for, the faster and farther it will go. This is his standard "B" attack. Side "B" sees him chucking a boomerang forward. It is more powerful than Link's and can be controlled easier. The reason it is more powerful is due to the fact that it is much bigger, allowing for a much stronger chance of hitting the enemy. His up "B" makes him spin around with magical energy, trapping anyone close enough to be in the flurry of spins. You can hold it down for a little while, making the timing helpful. In the air, it's his recovery move and an even more powerful offensive attack. Instead of trapping the opponent in the vortex, it will hit four or five times and on the final hit will always be the most powerful spin, so time the attack just right and you'll end up sending the foe soaring. The down "B" is the bombs. Toon Link will pull out a bomb and throw is when you are ready. This is one of his best moves. Use the bombs creatively and often, they have a larger range than Link's so don't be afraid to make a throw. The only drawback is the lack of power in them, but it's a small price to pay.

His final smash is identical to Link's. It's far too awesome to just tell you about it, I must show you. Sorry for the small wait.

SHHRREEAAAHHH!

  2. The triforce slash attack. It reminds me of the shining sword attack that Trunks has in DBZ...
But again, Toon link would PWN Trunks.

  3. Toon Link is the coolest nintendo character ever. It was close between him and Game and Watch, but the cat eyes won it for me.
